As a healthcare and fitness professional for over 7 years, I have encountered hundreds of individuals with different physical and emotional stressors. Whether it be a recurrent ankle sprain that prevents someone from running again, a "bad back" that renders them unable to stand for an extended time, or the fear of injury itself, I have seen time and time again that physical and emotional pain is the strongest deterrent to movement. It's not that you don't want to move; it's that you feel you cannot. Pain is debilitating, in both the physical and psychological sense.
Modern healthcare encourages rest during injury, yet research suggests quite the opposite: movement is the best medicine, for both injury prevention and injury rehabilitation. Through specific joint range of motion assessments, observations of the neuro-muscular pathways that dictate your body's movements in response to stimulus, and psychologically mitigating fear-avoidance thoughts, there are successful methods in training the human body out of pain and injury.
Life Specific Fitness is exactly that: a demonstration of movements that can and should be done by every human, to improve joint articulation, neuromuscular control, and stress management.
